Foro Buonaparte 46, MilanBoth of them are emerging artists who create from looking closely at nature, Gianluca Maver focuses and develops his feelings of astonishment and wonder, Zsolt Jozsef Simon trying to catch and preserve the continuous changing of the nature.
In this exhibition Gianluca Maver presents a group of images titled Web_2010 in which he takes photos capturing spider’s webs close up. In these images he tries to make webs not recognizable at first sight. The emphasis in his photos is the white background in which the spider web appear as graphic signs, almost like scratches on a lense of the camera it creates lightness and fragility.
The same fragility can be found in the works of ceramic sculptor, Zsolt Jozsef Simon. The Hungarian porcelain designer defies gravity with his very thin and sharp protrusions. His work resembles flowers, seashells, petals but they do not want to represent these things: they are the result of the artist’s desire to move, to shape, to be in motion. When Simon is at work, you will see him kneading clay almost as if he is dancing, to help find its natural form.
The exhibition will be open from October 20th to November 18th 2011.
